These arctic flamingos brightened up my walk home. |
Today wasn't perfect.
The heater in my apartment died late last night.
We hit lows of 10 degrees outside.
And highs of 28.
I nearly killed myself slipping on ice.
I sloshed hot chocolate all over everywhere.
I already dislike my french teacher.
And his stupid jokes.
Today wasn't perfect.
But it wasn't bad either.
Our heater got fixed before night came again.
The repair man was of a most amiable nature.
It was sunny.
My boots dealt way better with the treacherous sidewalks now
than they would have three weeks ago before they got pimped out treads.
I spent on hour playing with fun scrap booking tools.
The hot chocolate came from a Kaplan booth across the street from campus
manned by a cheerful employee who didn't try to sell me product,
but instead offered a smile and some warm goodness for a cold walk.
In an effort to convey the word "airplane" in french,
my teacher mimed flying around the room.
I think I made a friend.
Maybe two.
My theory professor shares my Alma Mater.
Which is pretty cool when your college and high school are separated by 700 miles.
Actually, make that three friends.
Yep.
Things could have been worse.
They weren't because I wouldn't let them.
Turns out cheerfulness fixes a lot of things.
Noted.
