Day 9

"An 80 year old woman was asked what was the biggest change she saw in her life time. Her reply was that in the '70s the phrase 'Have a nice day' was coined. She says before that, you didn't expect to have a nice day. Life was just hard."

 A friend shared this with me over the weekend, and I thought it was completely beautiful and encouraging. How lovely is it to know that despite all of the ills and difficulties of the world, a nice day is not too much to hope for. It makes you examine your trials in a new light and also prompts you to count your blessings more frequently.
